Boomers Rock On

©RichardBarnabé2010 – updated November 2020

We wonder if we passed the test

Obligations, coping with stress

Focus was on pursuing careers

Raising children, big debt to clear

We so wanted a better world

Were not always true to our word

Forsaken dreams, stillborn projects

Took some toll on our self-respect

We’ve got to rock on, boomers rock on

Before we pass the baton

Back to the roots, aint it a trip

With real gusto, let it all rip

Let’s reengage our overdrives

And carry-on productive lives

We’ve Got to rock on, boomers rock on

We’ve Got to rock on, boomers rock on

We’ve Got to rock on, boomers rock on

We’ve Got to rock on, boomers rock on

To the younger generations

Bequeath better situation

There’s still time for noble action

Let us display burning passion

We have so much to contribute

But our descendants ain’t substitutes

Give them room to maneuver

Or they’ll cry out …..OK Boomer

We’ve Got to rock on, boomers rock on

Before we pass the baton

Back to the roots, aint it a trip

With real gusto, let it all rip

Let’s carry-on productive lives

Till we leave for the other side

We’ve Got to rock on, boomers rock on

We’ve Got to rock on, boomers rock on

We’ve Got to rock on, boomers rock on

We’ve Got to rock on, boomers rock on
